TiviMate is an IPTV player for Android TV and Fire OS with a much better programme guide than its competitors, a free tier that covers ordinary viewing, and a premium tier that adds recording, multiple playlists and more. What it does better
Three things, and the first is the reason people switch.
- The programme guide. A real grid you can navigate with a remote, showing several channels and several hours at once. Every other player shows a list; TiviMate shows a schedule.
- Remote-first navigation. Every action has a sensible button. Nothing requires a pointer, which matters on a Fire Stick remote.
- Channel management. Reorder, rename, merge duplicates and build your own groups. On a line-up of thousands, this is transformative.
The last point is underrated. Most providers' groupings are organised for the provider, not for you. TiviMate lets you build a 40-channel list that matches what your household actually watches.
Setting it up
Install from Google Play
On Android TV, it is in the Play Store. On a Fire Stick, sideload it — the route is in the Fire Stick guide.
Add a playlist
Choose Xtream Codes and enter your username, password and server URL. TiviMate handles this format better than an M3U link, because it pulls the guide and categories automatically.
Let it process the guide
Longer than other players — it is building a full schedule grid. Two to five minutes on a first run.
Build your channel list
Settings → Playlists → your playlist → Channels. Hide everything you will not watch, then reorder what remains.
Set the guide options
Number of visible channels, how far ahead the grid shows, and your timezone.
What TiviMate cannot do
- Run on iOS, iPadOS, Roku, Samsung Tizen or LG webOS. There is no workaround.
- Work well with touch. It is built for a directional pad.
- Provide any channels. Like every player, it needs a subscription.
- Fix an unstable connection. Buffering is a network problem; no player solves it.
